Elena turned, jumping slightly out of her skin. Dillon wasn't quite like Mystic Falls where everything went bump in the night and the scariest of creatures happened to be walking around in the daylight as her neighbour or third grade teacher. Being spooked, even by the smallest of actions, like talking, was something she didn't quite place with Dillon. It was too normal to make her feel anything like her former self.
She smiled, though a little tense, as being the new girl was one thing Elena Gilbert was not used to. "Thanks." Awkwardly, she turned back to face the front, finding her eyes sliding over the menu one more time to pick out the three things Tim had selected for her.
Deciding that his selfless act of assistance wasn't deserving of her giving him the cold shoulder, despite the fact she knew he didn't know her name while she knew his, Elena turned back to him, "What happens if it's late, raining, and I'm cramming for an exam for the earliest hour of the next morning? Still chocolate milkshake, burger, and fries?"
no way! don't worry about it. ♥ sorry it took a bit for me on my end!
